From LOOK comes the all new HSC5 SL Fork the lightest Full Carbon Fork in the range. The flange is moulded within the carbon to form the fork crown instead of added an aluminium crown race. This alone gives a weight saving because a component of the headset is not needed. The bearings are located directly onto the carbon crown. Greater steering accuracy is gained because the long weave carbon can flow through the fork crown.

The fork crown is oversize because this is the place where there must be more material.
VHM fibre (very high modulus), giving ever greater tensile strength, allows for reduced thickness.
Ultra-precise orientation of the fibres increases the lateral rigidity without compromising vertical flexibility
The arms are curved to improve lateral rigidity and thereby also improving steering accuracy while keeping frontal flexibility for comfort.
The carbon dropouts are directly moulded with the fork.
